Get answers to common questions about Tip Out.
A typical Tip Out appointment lasts about 60 to 90 minutes, depending on hair length, density, and desired brightness. Time includes consultation, color application, processing, and finishing. Your stylist will give a more accurate estimate when assessing your hair.
When performed by our experienced stylists using professional products and proper processing, Tip Out is minimally damaging. We assess hair condition first and recommend treatments or bond-building services to protect integrity before lightening the ends.
Generally the brightness on the ends holds for six to eight weeks, depending on hair porosity, routine, and products used. Color-safe shampoo, cool water rinses, and UV protection extend vibrancy between salon refreshes.
Yes — Tip Out pairs well with glosses, balayage, or base color work. Combining services may increase appointment time and cost; your stylist will recommend the best sequence to achieve seamless, healthy results.
Use sulfate-free, color-safe shampoos and conditioners, limit hot styling, and rinse with cool water. Use purple toning products if recommended, apply UV protectant, and schedule regular glosses or touch-ups to preserve tone and shine.
Tip Out works on many hair types and lengths but is most visible on medium to long hair. Very short hair or very dark, resistant hair may need additional lightening; consult your stylist to determine the best approach for your hair.
